Little Cooker

Post by Gizmo » August 25th, 2013, 8:35 am

Ever wanted a really good bacon-cheeseburger but didn't want to fire up the beast for one burger?
Maybe I can fix this problem because I find myself with very little time and even less in materials …..

Some things from the scrap bin ….

Image

…. gonna try makin' a little cooker - hope this one doesn't get over-designed … again. :D

And on the eighth day God created barbecue …. because he DOES love us and he wants us to be happy. :D

Will a burger fit in that pipe? :D
Over designed? Is that possible? I don't think so!

BBQ is just smoke and beers!
Usually more beers than smoke.

You don't think so? I'll take that bet - shall we say a 12 oz. liquid refreshment …..?

I'm thinking 2 patties

-or-

4 strips of bacon

-or-

2 halves of the same bun for toasting….

prolly take 3 trips across the grate to finish it….. :D

Get an old pot.
Add charcoal.
Add round grate.
Add meat.

What's so hard! :grillin:

Thanks CRS!

EG it's 6 inch pipe - 1/8" wall and about 11.5 inches long.
I ran the rest through the pit calculator - the FB is 4.5 X 5.5 X 4.5

Nope. It's a stick burner.

=))
You guys crack me up!

I'm guessing it will hold about 5 briquettes - and as we all know, it only takes 3 briquettes to make a burger - right?

It's starting to get heavy though - must be at least 16 pounds by now.
It's getting harder to move around the workbench - gonna have to start thinking about wheels I guess … :violin:

I just want to see the chimney used to get the original coals going. I'm guessing a cannister torch will suffice.

If it can't be smoked .... try frying it. It that don't work, it's probably best just left alone

Bluecatfish I'm thinking I'll have to go tandem axle and a pintle hitch on this one.

DB I think if I cut the brats in half I could get on ….. well about enough for lunch …. :D
