That is a really nice size for a patio model...what are you planning to build?

Double check the calculator before you start. That will be a good sized unit

I’m going to build it out as a small franklin style offset. I plan on putting it on wheels with a wagon hitch so I can move it around the yard or onto a trailer with ease.

When you say franklin style, I envision another attempt at controlling your fire with just the firebox door. Please tell me I am incorrect and you are going to put some proper intake dampers on it..?

No dampers = no controll = much frustration

I agree, air control is key

Progress has been extremely slow because of work and family time.
When I said it was going to be a franklin style smoker I was more referring to the smoke stack placement and height. I will have a small damper on the door, but if I need more air I’ll just crack the door open a bit. That is how I’ve been smoking with my smaller smoker.

It’s your smoker...we can only make suggestions.

Smoker on trailer.jpeg
I acquired a trailer and am working on securing the tank to it. Next step is cutting the doors. Then smoke stack placement and fire box mounting.
How do I post pictures on here without having them turn sideways? It’s a bit frustrating.

Looking good.

If you’re taking the pics from your phone, then take them with your phone sideways. Seems like the forum wants the pic to be longer than taller. So however you take it, the forum will flip it to be wider.

Are you cutting one or 2 doors?

One other thing I've learned to do is edit the picture...crop it just a small bit. Once its saved it always posts up the intended way.
