Pullout grate

I see some smokers have a grate that slides out.
Why would one want this?
Looking for ideas :-)

Makes it easier to load and unload your meat.

And easier to clean out the grease in the bottom of the CC. :)

If you do use pull out grates, I suggest putting grate hanging hooks on the back of your pit to keep them off your deck/driveway/garage floor when you remove them. Keeps the grease off your floors.

The slide outs are a necessity- especially on deeper pits. Just make sure you put a ‘anti-tip’ bracket on the rack.
