Changing exhaust stack

Post by jrgreene1968 » May 27th, 2022, 8:11 pm

Howdy all.. I’ve been tinkering with a used smoker I bought, and have it working fairly well, but wanting to change the exhaust setup. Whoever built it, they have the stack coming out of the top of the cc, and I’d like to move it to grate level. Is there much difference between using a collector like on franklins, vs just welding a 90 in?
Thanks

I don't think there is a tangible, measurable difference as long as the stack is properly sized and the pit is built to draw properly. What I will admit is that it definitely looks cool.
