I oversized the fb. I’m at 24x27 (130%) I’ve always wanted an offset that I could burn a decent size fire in. I did this in hopes that gases would have a bit of time to cool a bit before entering cook chamber. I've got a 120 gallon air tank outside my garage right now I'm figuring of making into a 24" x 48" offset and cutting off the bells. Still working out the rough design before I start my first cut though.
What sorta figures did you settle on for firebox sizing? I was initially thinking an oversized firebox to eliminate an extra cut on the strips of plate I got, but I've been leaning towards sticking to the calculator after a bunch of reading.
