Lining the firebox

Post by Shawnt » February 24th, 2013, 12:10 pm

Hello everyone. Well for this new build I'm considering lining the firebox with fire brick. I would like to have more control
over the temp. and I'm sure this will help. Has anyone used the fire brick in their firebox? Did you find a big improvement?
Thanks

I have not, but I know that once the brick gets hot, it takes forever to cool down.

BBQ is just smoke and beers!
Usually more beers than smoke.

Why not use a 2" ceramic insulation a lot lighter in weight and will most likely help your fire management.
