Finally got around to getting some C25, and got a little work done.
Finished the welds on the CC, and ground them smooth. I also stopped by the steel yard to get some pipe to cut up for spacers on the door closures. I found this piece in their scrap area and paid $1.60 for it, and just cleaned the surface rust off.
Also got the hinges welded on, Gizmo, thanks for the tip in your Egor thread about the straight edge to help line them up.
Any short or scrap type pieces are sold by the pound, I believe it's .40 cents a pound. Some pieces are still close to four feet long.
No minimum on new stuff at this place either.

Despite the rain, I got some work done. Put the CC and firebox on the stand so I could take a look at it. I then cut the openings to join the two together. I also got the rails for the cooking grates tacked in place.
This is looking great!
Keep up the good work and the pics.
It's nearly identical to the layout of "Orvis" - the one we're starting next weekend.

Just a little progress today, had a family birthday party to goto. I put a couple of rails inside the firebox to hold a charcoal basket, and worked on making the air intake for the firebox.
It's looking good - you got some serious sparks flying on this one - won't be long now….

The above is so true.
I only got to get a little bit done today. I finished the damper and put a handle on it, also made a door handle for the firebox.
Couple more pics for ya.
Did one more thing. I drilled the hole and added the Tel-Tru for the pic. Still need to add the chimney, build the grill grates and install the gasket on the CC door. Then she'll be ready for smoke, hopefully in time for the SuperBowl.
