$25 Score

Post by cyberstrategist » June 7th, 2016, 2:39 pm

I got this NB on Craigslist over the weekend for $25. There was some scaling on the inside but the outside was all surface rust. I'm calling it Rusty. Is there a way to know how old or what model this is? I'm not looking for parts because I'll be refinishing and modding it anyway. I'm looking to know just what he is before I start.

That's a pretty cool score & with those mods it should end up being a wicked unit. :kewl:

You know... This is my first time restoring one of these from scratch. I have to tell you, whomever put the paint on at the factory must have put on a 1000 coats...lol. Between getting the rust off, the paint they used originally is some durable stuff!!

Question though - There was a sticker that was all charred on the inside of the cook chamber just behind the handle. Anyone know what this used to say? I had to wire brush it off to get down to clean metal but I'm curious.
