Appreciate all the compliments folks! Had a short day but got my fire grate built. Tomorrow should be super productive. I've been keeping a journal of the Build along with hours put in and whatnot. Guys in my shop are JEALOUS!!

:points: Very nice looking work there! I'm not sure about your handle though - I don't think it could support the weight of more than 3 used cars hanging from it before it bends a little ..... (sarcasm warning here) Otherwise looks great! :D

And on the eighth day God created barbecue …. because he DOES love us and he wants us to be happy. :D

Gizmo knows some of us like our stuff heavier than others. You can lift some of the smokers Gizmo makes. Nothing I make, or Fortycreek for that matter. I have learned a lot from Gizmo. His Easy Bake Oven is a sweet cooker.

It should last forever. Are you going to build a basket or just use the grate, does it slide out or is it wider than the door opening ?

The Smoker Build is coming right along. Capped off the two ends of the Cook Chamber. Installed an inner gasket. Got the grease drain put in. Got the exhaust in. Welded the Cook Chamber to the base and added casters. Got the damper on the Fire Box door done. Just a few more finishing touches before paint! Image

Yup. Firebox is mostly done, just gotta hang the door and attach it to the CC. Fingers crossed, I'll be painting sometime next week.

Oh ok, I think you are one of the fastest builders I've seen lately. Are you doing any work for the company, or just working on the smoker

[emoji23]. I've been a welder/fabricator for almost 7 years now. I have a journal at the shop of the Smoker Build. I'm right at about 19 hours in on it. I would say 90% of the time has been off the clock. Usually staying 2 hours after work each day to do what I can. I also teach welding at our local community college on Mon and Wed nights. Otherwise, it would probably be done by now. I just really dig fab work and problem solving. That's probably the greatest compliment I've received to date man! Thank you. Im just hoping that the big Beast actually works when it's all said and done!

Of course that beast is gonna work. :kewl: You used the calculators and got the dimentions right and then welded her up nicely. :points:
When you fire her up you'll see physics in action.

:needfood: I am looking forward to seeing some awesome Q-wiew. :needfood:

Got the much needed counterweight fabbed up and welded in place. There was a bit of guesswork involved here but the lid is now much easier to open. BONUS: The counterweight pulls double duty as my lid stop! Image
