I did some trading with the local steel guy. His sister was running for city council so I made her a big banner plus install. What is a good size flat expanded metal for my grates? I think I can get 2 sheets
Learning generally boils down to "Repetition or the avoidance of pain", some people learn by doing, some by watching and some just have to pee on the electric fence.
Whether you think that you can, or that you can't, you are usually right. Henry Ford
Technically it's already registered. So unless an inspection is required....I'll do that last. Got some new tires today. I'll get some done this weeknd.
Been dealing with the flu so not much work going on. I need a nod of approval for how to mount this beast to my trailer.
I plan to weld 4) 1/4" straps to the bottom of the pit then bolt the straps to each cross member of the trailer.
Reason #1. I'm pretty sure the pit will outlast the trailer.
Reason #2. I'm pretty sure with my skill level I will burn through the box tubing if I weld it directly to the trailer.
I hate to hear that you've had the flu, that's some bad stuff. I've seen a few guys bolt them to the trailer so it shouldn't be an issue as long as it is bolted to where it can't move at all.
Kid got te flu so dad got to skip work and work on the pit. It looks like a pit but damn it's never ending. Got most of my bolt on mounts done. Now I need to lift it ospho and paint.
Matagorda go texan is this weekend. I'm ready to cook something on this beast.
I finally found something about welding I'm just not doing anymore. Upside down. I've got to weld the drain in. Next weekend I'll lay it over.
Painted all but the bottom and the whole time I'm thinking wow this is watery. Sherwin williams didnt shake it when my wife bought it. All the solids were at the bottom. I'll do it again next weekend.
My poor compressor finally died so I went and put a 60 gallon porter cable compressor on the credit card. Love new tools.
