One question I have..
How do you prevent rain to flow into the CC? I have it stored outside and noticed that the rain drips in on the grate.

Most guys cut the door 1" over center to prevent rain from running in. Maybe you could install a drip rail that could double as a door stop over the top edge of your door...

Just wanted to see how it’s cooking? I’m trying to build one similar, with the exhaust out the end mid level like yours, but heard mixed things about it used with a baffle. ?.

I agree that the top of the door cut is the easiest way to avoid water intrusion. But seeing that is not an option I would recommend a small canvas tarp for a little more than the CC door. At least until you build a nice cover out of steel.

Thanks for the reactions. Indeed, next time i would probably cut on about the 12 oclock thing.
But when doing my research (also checked some information from Franklin) it was advised to do it lower then 12 oclock.
But they keep them covered probably.

I think I'm going to make a rail to divert the flow and after sandblasting it I will put some gasket on it.

It cooks good but I haven't tried a long run yet. I have bought new wood (cherry & appel) that are a little bit bigger.
Will cook some ribs & brisket on it soon. I also haven't checked the temp difference from left to right.
