Trailer Help

Post by Fattdaddy » June 7th, 2022, 9:29 pm

Greetings All,

I am getting ready to start laying out my trailer for my 250-gallon build, but I am not a trailer builder and figure that there are a lot of folks here that are.
I want to build a 16' x 8' wide tandem axle trailer with 2/3500-pound axles. What size/length of axles do I need and would also appreciate any other measurements that I may need such as tounge length etc.

Thanks,
Fattdaddy

Frank sells plans for just such a trailer, might be worth a look.

I would find a local trailer dealership that stocks a few different brands and go have a look. Take your tape measure and a notebook and I'm sure you can get everything you need. They are used to people measuring their trailers especially when used for a speciality purpose like a custom built smoker. In the end, you don't have to buy it but no reason you can't look and snap a few pictures.
