Ladies first ”Rub down”

Post by Mrs.RC » October 18th, 2017, 11:07 am

As we were all packing up to leave this weekend, the excitement of the ladies having a section on the forum was getting the best of Frank and he was throwing out topics amongst other members trying to get support. One of those topics he feels we should discuss here is sharing massage techniques amongst each other.

Since we are supportive of our men, I think we should oblige with a a twist of course.

If you are familiar with Bobby Flay’s famous “throw down” challenges; then this will be a cake walk.

At the next gathering each “Lady Of” has her man use HER RUB,
On chicken breast (since we are the chicks) and then there is a tasting contest.

Ribbons will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place.

If you are interested, then we have six months to create our Rub recipes, before the next gathering.

Well, Mrs. RC, what little ya’ll know of me already, you should know my mind isn’t necessarily in the right place here. Can you please be more specific? [emoji12]

Create a taste winning Rub (your recipe) Czar will rub down and cook the Chicken (breast of course). And then we will see who has the best rub!

A contest for the ladies Frank wanted us to share “rub down” techniques - we will oblige!

So glad y’all are having fun with it! I’m going to be working on a Rosemary, garlic rub. What are the other “Ladies of” thinking?

Is the tasting going to be a widespread judging or a panel of judges?

That’s a great question! If we do a panel, we wouldn’t be able to choose it until we see who will be in attendance. I’m thinking s panel so we don’t have an over abundance of chicken, what do you think?

I guess depending on how many of us ladies participate would be a huge deciding factor. Don’t ya think?

Ok Ladies, I'm interested and I'm in! However, I do have a few questions. :-B

We are using chicken breast, correct? Is that bone in or out? If its bone in then what about the skin, does it need to be included in the final product?

Are we supposed to make the rub there on the spot or is this something we can make ahead of time and bring with us?

We make up a Rub recipe and our men cook it, correct? Are there rules to the way they cook it? Can the breast be smoked, grilled, or fire pit dutch oven baked, or will everyone be required to do it the same way? Is there a time limit to the cooking or does it just need to be done a specific time?

Is there anything that is not allowed? Is there anything that is required besides the rub and chicken? What are the rules and/or etiquette?

Welcome JeepGirl! Mrs. RC? I think we need to just have a meeting of all those interested and come up with the rules. Thoughts?

I don’t want this to exclude anyone, even those who can’t physically attend can send the Rub with their guys. I believe this conversation is what’s need for the rules. I would vote to have bone in w/ skin ( I think the rub would adhere better) and venture to say it be smoked (as we are Ladies of smokerbuilders)

Let’s keep throwing out these questions and firm up rules by beginning of January. Since the gathering should be around April, we’ll have plenty of time to perfect it! All questions as well as suggested rules are welcomed.

Rub can be pre-made and brought with, yes, guys are cooking because Frank wanted us to exchange massage techniques with each other, we are turning the tables, hence they “rub our breast” oh my!

I think having it done at a specific time, to do side by side tasting would be best. So far I can’t think of anything not permitted.

Make sure to have copies of your Rub recipes to share. HAVE FUN WITH IT! I will be coming up with “Awards” for 1st, 2 nd , 3rd Place. Maybe a fun ribbon of sorts! Made by me.

I was kinda hoping those of us interested could having a “meeting” on messenger one evening to discuss questions and come up with final guidelines together such as bone-in/out, skin or no skin etc...

Awesome idea! Let’s pick a date for that!
Can you initiate it? I don’t know how to do that!
