Steel price will be going up

Post by Heatermeter builder » March 1st, 2018, 1:12 pm

Cost of steel going to start going up, as Trump will be putting a 25% tariff on steel imports next week. This won't be good

I asked my wife for an advance on my allowance tonight at supper. Told her I wanted to make a 25 year steel supply order.

She said no....

Well apparently, Trump opened his trap too soon and it may not take effect as planned. He has until April 10th to decide.

Bet your bottom dollar the steel suppliers will be increasing their prices immediately, even on existing stock.
That is if they are anything like they are over here.

Just the fact Trump opened his mouth about possible tarifs means he already could have sent prices up regardless if the tariffs go into effect. People and companies will start buying steel sooner then later. If they wait to buy then it could cost them 25% more then sooner. So, steel may in fact may get harder to buy as supply goes down and prices go up as a result. Trump ineffect, manipulated the steel markets in a very dangerous way when talked about the tariffs

My supplier told me this week they ordered 169 thousand pounds of steel to weather the storm. I bet they still raise their prices lol.
