Couple of recent good scores

Post by SheffSmoker » June 5th, 2021, 8:39 am

Hi all,

Been a good few weeks for freebies. :)

First off a good friend gifted me a DC TIG welder that needed a bit of TLC. I've given it a good clean, once over inside and replaced some faulty cabling that was open circuit. It's up and running now, just waiting on a regulator, argon and some new tungstens and it's playtime!

Second was browsing the local ads and found a pair of propane tanks for free. Went to collect them and the second one almost gave me a hernia carrying it uphill from their drive and loading it in the car. Got home and put the gauge on - it's 75% full of propane still! That will keep the gas BBQ running for a few years. Just a shame it's too big for the caravan, and a shame I can't fill the smaller bottles from this big one safely.

Plans already afoot for smoker number 3 :)

I like free. I'm cheap and like to work with what I have on hand. I have gotten rid of most of my spares pile and only have a few small piles of goodies left hanging around. I try and only bring home things I am going to use now. I used up a bunch of old things around the place making my pizza oven.
