welding rods

Post by SOILhunter » December 13th, 2012, 9:50 am

I use 1/8" 6011 for all my stuff...I usually clean and come back over with 7018 to make it a little prettier. 3/32 or 1/8" just depends on how much I'm running. The 7018 also adds alot of strength but probably isn't needed as much because there isn't alot of stress or weight on the smoker anyway.

Oh heck its been a while but I run a 5p for open root and then 7018 after the first pass.

1/8 if I am thicker then 1/4 and 3/16 for the less then 1/4...

but like I said if its an open root on say 3/8 pipe then I run the 5p first. Its a fast freeze pipe rod.

I am not a fan of the 60's and not all that big on the 5p but it does what its made for.

the 70's are straight up fun to run on heavy stuff.

crank it up, burn it hot and watch the scorpion tail grow.

I love my old 135 - but I'm not trying to build big stuff with it... fwiw.

I think the 140 replaced it with "Auto-set" ... ?

WOW, pretty sure the 252 will do everything you would ever want to do on a smoker.

LOL

Wish I had one.

I use my ac/dc buzz box or the little miller 211
