Yelp, gotta make sure that everything fits before I start posting a bunch of pictures of how this thing goes together. So far we've been working on it about 3 hours and we're a little less than half done. It's amazing.
We've been taking our time because we've been taking a ton of video and pictures of this thing.
Making some notes of some minor Corrections that need to be made before the production starts.

There seems to be a lot of excitement on this project and a lot of people waiting in line to buy the first crate. With the risk of being blacklisted, I should point out that, in my opinion, this project is a ways out from being released. I know the hardworking crew at smokebuilder is working long hours to build a perfect product and that means they need time to work out the bugs. Be patient....when it is, perfect it will be.

@DirtyTires, no argument there, I had that conversation on the phone with Frank a few months ago. IMO, one of the worst things he could do is start sending out kits that are a little off, i.e. a gap here or there, might take a little grinding, etc.

I got spoiled putting together my fixturing table from Tab and Slot. Holy Moses..... for me, it's a nice piece of equipment. I'd like to think that Frank's design approaches that level of sophistication, fit & finish.

If this kit goes together seamlessly, is priced right, and works well I see a pretty good future for it on the market. Shipping any distance will be the make or break point as far as I can tell.

@towtruck, it'd have to go truck freight. The heavy pallet is going to complicate things, a lot of us don't have pallet jacks or front end loaders handy to unload it. and IIRC, most of the time the trucking company will only commit to getting it to the tail of the truck.

If I put one of these together for my client manager, I'll have to come up with a loader big enough to spear this thing.

All major freight companies will transfer to a truck with a lift gate and they will pallet jack it into a garage with no issue.
