DP GF rack spacing

Post by scullman » October 15th, 2018, 2:44 pm

I just pulled the trigger on these plans, and wanted to know if there's any disadvantage to adding additional channels above each of the channels in the drawing, giving an optional 4" spacing between racks, instead of the regular 5" space.

This would allow me to squeeze one more rack in for ribs :D That's 20% more!

It also allows you to re-arrange the racks if you have something larger that needs a tad more space.

Go for it. The plans are a guide to get to the final build. You can add as many rack holders you want. They will all benefit you in the long run.

I agree add all you want. I have mine 4” apart and it allows for a lot of jerky that way too.
