Build update!

I’ve made a list and checked it more than twice!! Time to start!! I’m super new to fabricating and welding! I almost started with building the mini, but decided to bite off more than I can chew and start with the double pan!! This project will probably take way longer than most people because I will have to take my time trying to avoid making big mistakes. I decided to go with 10g sheet metal on the inside and 14g on the outside. Any tips or tricks to avoid pitfalls you can help me with I would appreciate it!! I’ll post as many progress pictures as possible a long the way! I’ve read a lot of the build threads and love the detail shared on this forum! Thanks for any help a long the way!

I’m jealous of that pile of fresh steel! Can’t wait to see your progress. Some of the best fabricators on here are building GF pits so you’re in good hands. Good luck!

Got the frame welded up today!! Man it was a lot of fun!! Had to go out of town, but maybe Sunday evening I might get a little work in? It’s supposed to be super cold, so we will see how dedicated I am!

More progress! I flipped the slant of the charcoal chute by accident. No biggie! Just a dumb mistake!! I’m learning a lot along the way!! I need to cut about an inch off my baffle plate to be able to slide the charcoal chute all the way in. Then I can weld it up!!
