Door seals
Door seals
I would like to know if any of you have used tadpole or rope seals (gasket) on the doors of your gravity feed? I see that some people use nomax 1/4" but my fear is will it actually seal? This is my first build and I know it is not perfect but close..lol

People have used the tadpole seals (I believe that's what Stumps Smokers are made with), don't think I've seen normal rope seals. I use Nomex & yeah they seal, sometimes when the smoker is cold it leaks a bit but when the smoker gets up to temp & everything expands it seals up very well.

Anyone had problems with the nomex sticking? I had my charcoal chute you're stuck. I had to rip the gasket. Bonded on both sides.
