Tips on getting insulation in the tubing!!

Anyone have any tips or tricks for getting the insulation inside the tubing?

Well you can cut it slightly smaller than 1.5” like 1.45” and it slides in pretty good. Or you can use a dowel and push small pieces into the tube and as soon as you feel it push back on the dowel stop pushing so that you don’t waste insulation by over filling the tubes.

I remember a post a while back where a guy cut a piece of vinyl siding down to about an inch wide and twice as long as the piece of tubing. He cut the strip of insulation to the correct length and width, folded the vinyl in half length ways, put the insulation in between the vinyl and then slid the vinyl inside the tubing. He said it worked very well. I wish I could remember which thread it was in because he had some pictures that would explain it better.

I just bought a bag of Roxul at home Depot for the tubing. It's much cheaper then using the Roxul board insulation and less time consuming.

Pretty easy to do, I cut the 1 1/2 sheets in strips and pushed the insulation in with a piece of tubing, make sure you wear gloves.

Ditto on gloves. Cut strips and push in.

Dint have any vinyl siding, since I’m in the Flooring industry I used a 1.5” pc of vinyl transition, lol and it worked like a charm. Thanks!!! Onto the welding.
