If I recall correctly, Puff used regular automotive paint on his GF and didn't have any issues.

I think that the area around the FB door got a little toasty tho.

Yes,You can even get really fancy pain too. I have seen some folks put a piece of diamond plate aluminum around that FB door to keep the paint in safe keeping.

Thanks for the input. I work in a bodyshop so I'm really wanting to put a nice paint job on it and the diamond plate could be a nice addition.

I used regular enamel paint on mine and used high temp engine paint on ash door area and as you can see the framework on smoker side even though I used engine paint for this area it is still discolored from the heat. At one time I checked temps and at 250 f cook chamber temp my ashbox frame was 362f and charcoal chute lid was 185f.

Only issue I've seen posted is around the FB door.

I have been thinking about powder coating once mine is done, he estimated it at 300.00 for the mini for 2 colors, high heat on the doors.

Edit: That is also including blasting.
