Coming along nicely. Looking good.

Ever get to that point where tomorrow never comes. Well I got there almost. Life decided to happen, but we got after it good today. One more good day and we should be at paint. Hopefully that day is in the near future.ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

Now she's coming together nice. Good strong work. One large step towards Q-view...

Yeah I gotta say. The skinning went allot faster than I anticipated it going. Gonna order a few bar clamps so we can get the door positioned and then we will be all but done.

Question about the CC door. I am going to use 4 bar clamps to hold the door in place while I weld on the bullet hinges. I take it I should wait to install the gasket till after that? do I need to put a spacer in to accommodate for the gasket?

I will be using this gasket: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N1 ... UTF8&psc=1

Yes, you'll need to space the door half the thickness of the gasket that you plan to use so the door will seal properly.

Find an 1/8 inch spacer? Just use a piece of old flatbar or angle....many large washers are also stamped out of it.

So looking at the thermometer I do not think I can just drill a hole and stick it in as the door is too thick. How have you guys been subverting that issue?

I saw this guy was doing a recess, but I was wondering if there was an easier method.

Are those thermometers NPT threaded? Pick up a black iron coupler and weld it into the door.

Edit: Yup.... bet it's a half inch NPT connection. A nipple or coupler (not galvanized, please...) should be pretty easy.

Edit (again): The door is about 1.75" thick. I'd expect the end of the stem to stick through about 0.75", it's 2.5" long.
