Stack location on a double pan

Post by dgilbert71 » December 30th, 2020, 9:57 pm

I did a search and couldn’t find any threads on this topic. I’m new so I might have missed something. Has anybody moved there stack to a side mount like this Stumps? I know people who have other styles of vertical smokers and and have complained of nasty condensation dripping on their food with a center overhead stack. Just curious what y’all thought! I pick up my material tomorrow or Saturday!! About to get after it!!!

Agreed on top center stack location
This is for most GF's. Looks like Stumps may place it on an end though based on the pic..
Also a swing damper on stack to choke it down and find the sweet spot for the desired smoke and heat.
Insulation and 2 skins help with teh condensation. I do not get any in mine..

Yeah this is the only Stumps smoker this style, most are center top stack.
