Round propane smoker plans

Post by Papabear97 » August 22nd, 2018, 10:12 am

I’m new to fabricating a smoker. I need help with plans on a round propane tank I want to make a smoker out of. It’s hard to find any of that nature on the internet.

You found the right place. Post pics of the tank, look at the smoker calculator and most important use caution cutting into the tank

Welcome and smokerbuilder.com has a bunch of plans.

Welcome to the crew!

I remember that a guy made a smoker out of one of those several years ago it was round like a ball. You may be able to do some searching on the site to find the thread. I am pretty sure smokerplans.net doesn’t have any plans for that design. There’s just not many people building that shape. That doesn’t mean you can’t.

Welcome aboard!! I believe that this is the one that RC was referring to, it has been a long time ago. I don't remember any others using a round tank but I could be wrong. Here's a link viewtopic.php?f=17&t=427&start=75 It starts of on page 4 of the thread for some reason but you can follow the link and then just go back to page 1.

I passed one up offers for sale here in Georgia about a year ago. I'm still kicking myself for it. I imagine that you could make one cool smoker or grill out of that thing.

Different can be good. Almost reminds me of Ocean Buoy.

It has potential for sure. I thought of a Santa Marla grill first, but an offset smoker would be really cool. I'm interested to see what you do.

Wow that is round. I thought you were referring to a "round tube". Interesting build for sure.
