Is exhaust big enough

Post by Creedt6 » August 2nd, 2016, 12:30 pm

Building vertical insulated smoker, firebox is 26x25x13. Cook chamber is 24x26x30. Opening from firebox to CC is 2"x26". I have 2 2" ball valves for air intake if needed. I put in a 2x8 exhaust to keep it clean and fit inside 2" tubing. Is 2x8 enough for good airflow

It's 2x8 rectangular tubing, I'm hoping it's enough and it'll burn clean and not dirty.

If it was a RF or offset I would say it might be problematic but on this style I would say it will be good. You are burning charcoal right?

Making memories.

Yes burning charcoal and not wood, does anybody know the size of exhaust on a backwoods or something similar, almost finished and ready to do a test burn, hoping I don't have to rip apart to add another exhaust. Started making the insulated doors this week.
