Strawberry/ peach baby backs.

Post by towtruck » February 5th, 2023, 7:36 pm

I smoked three racks of baby racks and kinda cleaned out the cupboards to do it. I prepped them by de-skinning them, slather in mustard, two kinds of rubs, a spicy one and a bold one, used some special seasoning as well. Next they were smoked for 3 hours at 225*.

I then crutched them using only peach juice from a jar of peaches. Crutch for an hour then unwrapped and finished off over the coals with my home made bbq sauce that had the main ingredient (ketchup) cut 50/50 with strawberry jam.

These came out perfect with a nice light fruity flavor and no heavy butter finish. Don't get me wrong, I love my crutch with butter and apple juice but on a fruit rib the butter makes them heavy when you are looking for light.

No pictures as they look just like any other rib I have posted....you will have to use your imagination!!

I’m really going to miss this site. The other site is great, but this one is special to me.

towtruck, I hope you travel over to the new site. You have a lot of great knowledge to share. I know I have learned a lot from you and Big T. Hope to see you there.

Yes. This site/form is going away, I think by the end of next month. SmokerBuilderU.com is where this form is moving to.
On the top of this page there's a link, if you click on it, it should take you there so you can signup. Big T and others are there.
