First Cook On The Disco

Post by TrailerBuilder » March 24th, 2012, 11:11 pm

I knew after having Denny's carnitas last weekend in Texas, that I was having them this weekend in Missouri.

Image
Pork marinating

Image
How can you go wrong with lard on your first cook

Image
Turkey fryer therm works nice and attaches to the handle well.

Image
Pork added

Image
Good color

Image
Frying up some white corn torts

Image
Plated with some onion, tomato, cilantro and some salsa.

Wasnt too bad, damn sure wasnt Denny's. I cooked the pork just a touch too long. There will be a learning curve on this thing for sure, but thats okay, I like to eat, so Ill keep trying.

Thanks for looking! :D

Thanks maccas66, they were awesome. I used a 4lb pork butt cut into roughly 1" squares. 8oz of lime juice, 2 large TBS of kosher salt and 1/2 TBS of cinnamon. I let it sit in the fridge for about 8 hours. Denny (killswitch505) adds milk to his mixture too, bout 1/4 cup, but I left it out of mine this time.

=)) Thats too funny Rick, suprising though for sure =))

DC, thanks for looking man, you really need to try these :needfood:

Sorry for the post in the build section. My bad!

That looks great! I'll have to try them.

BBQ is just smoke and beers!
Usually more beers than smoke.
