Small pig on the RF

Post by SAFETYHARBORREDNECK » November 13th, 2018, 6:35 am

My buddy cooked a little 118lb pig for the Veterans at the local VFW Saturday/Sunday.
He stuffs the belly with stuff(carrot, celery, onion, potato, mojo and adobo).
Wraps it in a foil pouch(no small feat),chucks it in his 120 gal. RF/hybrid for 18 hours and VIOLA!
He's got a neat little gurney for it.I might just make one of those for myself. It sure makes moving the pig easy.
Here's the pics...ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

Aaaaand the final product.
Pulled it at 180° ,put it on the table and put a tarp over it till Showtime.
A little info on the gurney.
It's 1/2" square steel. Not sure of the exact measurements but his door isn't very wide compared to most.his door is 2" inset of the welds on each bell end. I got lucky on my tank mine has only 1 weld line and it's dead center, allowing me to stretch my door to within an inch before the bell starts to curve.Ill dig up a pic of mine.
and theres 2 sheet pans to sit on top to help hold everything.ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

The description didn't do justice. When I seen the pic I thought that's a lot more stuffing than I was imagining. Great to see the vets get a good meal they deserve that.
