Memphis style BBQ question

Post by maccas66 » May 11th, 2013, 3:51 am

OK, Lynny and I have just got home after having gone to a new local eatery for diner :needfood: , it is supposed to be a authentic Memphis smoke house BBQ joint................what a let down :( , I reckon the only smoke my ribs ( 6 ribs@ $21.99) had seen was when a fly landed in the bug zapper!, the fries were thick and soggy but tasted alright funny enough :? but poor Lyns Pulled Pork sambo was as dry as,, well you know how dry somethings can be, that was $6.99 and the side tub of house sauce was $1.50 :-o with the 2 Reg coke zeros it came to a total of $36.46....NOT EVER AGAIN! will this little black duck be going back, this crowd would go broke in the US. So after my rant is Memphis style BBQ supposed to be smoked and pulled pork tastless?? ............X(

Next time you come up North, swing by Alabama. For $36.46 you can enjoy all the pulled pork, homemade slaw and house recipe baked beans you can eat. I will even toss in a 6 pack of beer. Table for two on our exclusive deck (great view of a woodside garden). Just remember to take care of your server :D

If it can't be smoked .... try frying it. It that don't work, it's probably best just left alone

Rick, that was part of my intension and to show how much we get ripped off down here!, their web site says they learnt how to smoke and BBQ in Memphis and have now brought it to the land of OZ, with franchises to be had soon.....I mean to say!, what a load of crap.......you know we couldn`t even smell smoke inside or out.

SQ, I`ll be there with a banjo on my knee mate!

Thanks S1! you guys are the best!

DC, Lyn and I were both thinking that we would most likely end up talking to the owner about where he learnt to smoke and the different places we have had great Ribs in the US, HA!, they were all teenagers with NO customer skills at all and their heads up their arses......................the next 15 months are going to be hard.

If I did it, I would use the word 'mate' excessively.

I'm bringing DC with me as a translator. Also, every time I pick up a knife I'm going to say, 'that's not a knife...'

Everything I know about Australia I learned from Foster's commercials and Crocodile Dundee.

After watching a lot of Austrianlian commericals and videos....you just have to make words up as you say them and end the sentence with walabee.....you'll fit right in....

If you can't fix it by sheer force or cursing......then it can't be fixed.....
