Burn-in

Post by MikeInMiami » August 30th, 2013, 11:25 am

With any luck this long weekend may bring me to the burn-in process. I did a topic search and nothing came up. Looking for any tips. I amd thinking about building a fire in the FB and monitor the temps in the CC for a while then also get a fire going in the CC to burn everything off that might be there from the build. Am I wasting my time??? :exp:

No your not wasting your time. If the cc is fairly clean, just pressure wash it, and lite your fire in the FB. After the cc dries, spray it with cooking spray, and bring it back to 350 or so and let it hold there for a couple of hours.

BBQ is just smoke and beers!
Usually more beers than smoke.

Once your fire is going your cooker wont care what the weather is so set it up so you can just watch it from the back porch.
Some of my best burns/cooks came during the worst weather ….. or was it worst cook from best weather …. anyway - GO FOR IT! :D

And on the eighth day God created barbecue …. because he DOES love us and he wants us to be happy. :D

I generally just wire brush inside the CC, spray with cooking spay and build the fire in the FB and let it stay around 250-300 for awhile (2 hours).
Next time do some cooking.

Current Smokers: Backyard RF Offset and Hybrid RF Offset trailer rig with Cowboy cooker and fish fryer, always room for more........
