What is your favorite thermometer. I hear that tel true is really good. I noticed there expensive though.

I have a pair of Thermapen's and like them quite a bit.

Well......there's thermometers and thermometers and thermometers.... I can't speak to the various brands of through hole analog devices. The only experience I have with those are what has come with my charcoal grills, or the Tel-Tru I got with the parts kit for my GF.

I'm a big fan of anything from Thermoworks. I have an original Thermapen, and it lives on in spite of my g/f's best efforts to kill it. I also have a ChefAlarm that's awfully handy for kitchen use from ovens to candy & saucepans. All of my food probes for my HeaterMeter are from Thermoworks.

General rule is that you're gonna get what you pay for.

Yeah. I didn’t think about it before I posted this thread but. I’m thinking of analog thermometers like what you would mount to the front of your smoker. Sorry for the vague question. Lol

Tel tru....look good, reliable and have held up awesome. I’ve got 5 on my pit and they look just as good now as they did 3 years go when new.

Yes....they are expensive but you will never need to replace it.

My current ones are River Country and they have been doing pretty well but they're only about 10 months old. I mostly put them on there for a quick reference and because I like the look of them but I really go by my digital thermometer that is on one of my cooking grates.

I ended up putting a river country on my new pit. It seems to work really good although I don’t have another to compare it to. I also have a maverick with two probes. One for meat and one for the cook temp.
