new member from Florida

Post by DaddyZSmith » September 7th, 2018, 11:18 am

Hello everybody, my account was just activated this morning and I am looking forward to becoming a part of this community. I live in South West Florida and love grilling and smoking. I currently use a Chargriller offset smoker and it does a pretty good job. I am trying to acquire the supplies needed to build my own trailer mounted smoker; I would like the cooking area to be about 30" diameter by 6'-7' long. I've got a design in mind and can't wait to get started.

Welcome to the forum sounds like you want a big upgrade. Excited too see what you come up with. Run your numbers thru the calculator before you start, ask plenty of questions and don't forget to post pics

Welcome! I'm a new member myself with similar ambitions.

Good luck on your build. I look forward to seeing progress pics. I'm going a different route, but there are opportunities to draw inspiration from all sorts of builds.

Welcome to the crew.
If you are looking for ideas and/or plans, go to smokerplans.net it is a good place to look. And it's a sister site to this one.

Welcome to the crew!

I live in Orlando glad to have you in the group.

I would recommend considering an warming box/ vertical cooking chamber above the Firebox. This is a great part of a offset cooker, and it doesn’t require extra fuel and you can just use it or not use it at all and you will be so glad you did.

Making memories!
