A Reintroduction!

Post by Gotcha929 » September 22nd, 2019, 10:04 am

Just here for a reintroduction. My name is Travis Blank I am from Cincinnati, Ohio. It's been way too long, I found this page in 2011 after buying some cheap brinkman offset smokers. They were garbage not having the money to go out and buy a multi thousand dollar smoker, I heard about the UDS and had to build me one. Found some info on here and like that i got addicted to building them and then wanted to try my hand at bigger builds..
With very little and I mean very little experience at welding and even less in fabrication. I jumped in and bought a Miller 211 and really haven't stopped since.
Probably a couple hundred of drums later and a little over a handful of cabinet smokers. Here I am finding myself back on here. Wanting to be able to offer any advice/help that i can to the new builders. Most importantly I am here to learn. There's a hell of a lot more people on here new and old that have a lot more welding and fabrication experience than i do. I love building them, but definitely have had my share challenges/struggles on some of my cabinet builds. Anyway glad to be back and looking forward to be getting involved in the group. ImageImage

:yth: Welcome back, yes you have been busy in your absence.

Learning generally boils down to "Repetition or the avoidance of pain", some people learn by doing, some by watching and some just have to pee on the electric fence.

Whether you think that you can, or that you can't, you are usually right. Henry Ford

Hey guys, just wanted to say thanks again and glad everyone liked what they have seen so far. Getting ready to start on a 500 gallon offset later this week, and in the middle of another cabinet now. Well actually just got the frame welded up (samething right), I will post some pics in the feeds though when i get up to my shop sometime this week.
