Ok I have a question regarding fire box wall thickness. I have a lot of sheet metal about 1/8" thick. Is this too thin?

Thats a good start Shawn! Read this to resize- http://www.smokerbuilder.com/forums/vie ... f=50&t=125

As far as the firebox, i would not go less than 1/4".

BBQ is just smoke and beers!
Usually more beers than smoke.

Your fire box should be at least 1/4 inch plate. More is better. If you do an RF plate or tuning plates, 1/4 is best and 3/16 will work.

This may help if you haven't seen it......

Nice looking work there GS!

Ever notice how when you're in the middle of a big weld EVERY clamp in a 2 block radius is suddenly worth it's weight in gold?

And I'm always about 1 short of what I want ... :D

I'm trying to get this smoker done for the May 24 long weekend (here in Canada EH!) so I can take it to the cottage and try it out!
I'm surprised at how much work really goes into building a smoker. I'm a auto machanic by trade and thought this would be a cake walk!! WRONG!! LOL!! there is a lot of work to put this together! I'm really enjoying building it though. I'll post more pics soon.
