FNG From Northern CA

Post by Timmy » January 14th, 2023, 5:05 pm

Thought I'd take a minute to introduce myself. I joined the forum to get some information and advice on my upcoming build.

I've been smoking for about 6 years and currently have a UDS and a Weber 26. Both get regular use, I am not one of those guys who only smokes and grills during the summer.

I am planning on either a gravity fed or reverse flow cabinet and buying plans from smoker builder. I am lucky because I have access to a full shop, high end welder and a machinist friend to help me along the way.

In the past I've built a tortilla press and currently I am finishing a small chimney starter (pics attached). Now all I need is a the handle to be delivered and I am set.

Tim.

I never used a gravity feed before, but I have used a RF a few times (my daughters') and love how it cooks and holds temp. Can't go wrong ether way.

Good luck and post lots of pics when you start.

Welcome aboard! Nice charcoal chimney! I currently run an insulated gravity fed cabinet, and I’m in the process of an RF build. I expect you’ll love either! :kewl:
