Hello From Kansas

Post by brewman114 » August 9th, 2012, 1:33 pm

Just thought I would take the time to introduce myself. I am currently employed by the USAF, at least for a couple more yrs, then retirement. Well, retirement from the Air Force anyway. A couple of years ago I built a small metal fab shop. Until recently it has just been a place for me to mess around building stuff for myself and family. Recently I applied for an LLC and now have that established. Since I started with the shop my capabilities have expanded dramatically. I now have capabilities beyond just cutting, bending and welding. A little over a year ago I invested in a 4X8 CNC Plasma table. Now I have been doing a lot of cutting with this new tool. A few things that I have been doing a lot of is custom art, Grill Grates, Firepits, etc. I have built several custom backyard style stick-burners. I do have a passion for BBQ and would like to step it up a little. I am thinking of starting to build trailer smokers as well and hopefully there will be a market for it as it is my goal to be self employed after my retirement from the Air Force. I have built a trailer-ed reverse flow smoker before out of a 250 gal tank. The plan now is to use exclusively virgin steel and design the Cadillac of smokers. I know there is a lot of companies out there that are in the same business but there is always room and want for more variety on the market.

Anyway, there is a brief overview of who I am and what I do. I look forward to my time spent here in this forum and chatting with all of you!!!

Sounds like you have a plan. Looking forward to seeing pics of your builds.

If it can't be smoked .... try frying it. It that don't work, it's probably best just left alone
