newbee in mass

Post by jon in mass » August 25th, 2012, 8:01 am

greatings i have bein smoking meats for a little over a year now. i started with a chargriller indirect smoker that i soon started to modify extensivly. i have at this point almost burnt thru the firebox. so i have decided to build a smoker. i have aquired a small trailer, a 275 gallon oil tank, and a small wood stove. i am panning on mounting it horizontaly. so far other than that i am looking for ideas and sugjestions.

Lots of ideas on this site with the experience to back them up. Looking forward to following your build :kewl:

If it can't be smoked .... try frying it. It that don't work, it's probably best just left alone

thamks for the warm welcome guys. have bein learning alot hear on this site like that my wood stove idea isnt going to be big enough for the 275 gallon tank. (thanks to the pit calculator, saved me a ton of wasted work) instead i will be building a 24x24x30 fire box with a warming cabinet on top. i was wondering if i could get some advice on tuneing platesas apposed to reverse flow. as i am currently planning on mounting the firebox in the middle of the sideways mounted cook chamber .
thanks again. Jon
