It looks like I found someone who likes heavy steel too. The little one is 1/2 inch thick wow, that is going to take a few minutes to get hot but it will hold temp well. Your doing some good fab work there, I like your avatar too. I'm from Odessa. you asked for some ideas on door latches, this is what I did on mine.

This is the inside of the firebox door.

This is the outside.

Thanks for the props!. I like your door latch designs Rodcrafter! Thanks for sharing. Well I finished up the 2.0 smoker this weekend and burned it out. I tell ya that thing is one hell of a smoker. This is my first R/F smoker and it trully is amazing whatching it work. I had my fluke digital probe in the cooking chamber and it will mantain 255 Drgrees with min amount of wood. We started the firebox around 1:30 yesterday and had it going till 8pm and it only used 4sticks of wood. This morning when i left for work it was still holding coals! :grillin: Here are some shots of 2.0! I am going to get some diamond plate this week and cover the floor of the trailer. That will really make it POP! Image.Image.ImageImageImage. So what do yall think! My friends want one now :-) . I was thinking about selling some of theses? What would be a good price? I have just at $250 in material.

Nice looking set up!

Word of caution - for your trailer floor stick to mild steel tread plate and avoid polished aluminum diamond plate - it will act like a reflector oven when you're trying to stand on it and cook in a sunny setting. - and YOU will be the one being cooked... maybe polished stuff just around the edge for a highlight look and it will still "POP" ... from one who knows.... :D

Thanks for the info Rick. I didn't even think about that. :oopssign:. The trailer is 3x6 so you won't be standing on it. Its sitting just at your waist. I still have to put a drain and little details like paint, I have the paint. I got excited and had to pull it out and fire her up. :exp:

Theses little pits would be perfect on the patio. They will last forever being made out of 1/2". The pipe is 14". reverse flow. I built this one to pull around the house and take to familys when needed.

the patio model i am looking at off the trailer, I am not sure what length it is you asked how much 1200 -1350$$$ in my neck of tha woods cookers are always more valuable to us because we build it. You have to look at the going price vs other custom cookers/not priced against academy sports cookers. Your work is excellent, very very nice and detailed. Honestly though i may be a tad high on price for the simple fact that most people want a bigger diameter if they are spending that kind of money just so they can pack the meat on it. This is all my personal opinion i have sold 24"0D patio models for the price above. I look at how long it takes, and I want to make a certain dollar amount per hour or it is not worth it. A cooker is an investment and are you willing to pay now or pay later is my question for people. I have done cookers to cheap before and i was in the learning process, but aint no spanking as bad as the one you give yourself for not charging enough. If like me your time is valuable, heck and I can sit around and watch gomer pile and I Love Lucy and not make money. Wow!!!TQ shutup you are starting to sound like a road evangilist but I think I am pretty spot on with my assement, you have a skill and you deserve within reason to get paid for it. You take pride in what you do and there is honor in that Im impressed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the input Tuscaloosa . I am just bouncing the idea off my noggin! I figured it only took me and a friend two days working on it to get to this stage. We were not in a rush just thinking it through and drinking beer in the shop. I have seen smokers similar to this one go for around $2000. It was a theamed smoker thou. Thanks all for the great commits and support, I am very green in this smoker building thing and learning every day on the different styles and designs out there. :grillin: :biggrillin:. Now I am going to finish my 200gallon reverse flow here real soon. I plan on making a new trailer instead of the set up i have now.

Sweet! That is an KOOL looking rig! Should make some fine grub.

BBQ is just smoke and beers!
Usually more beers than smoke.
