Hey from GA

Post by willraylee » June 24th, 2013, 12:23 pm

Hey ya'll Bill from Southeast GA here. Been thinking about trying to build a smoker for some time and I'm ready to get started. My Dad has a 250 gallon propane tank and I also have a 100 gallon tank. Would the 100 ga tank work for a fire box. I have questions on how to safely cut the tanks. Anyone have links to this process? I have a 375xtreme plasma cutter, oxy-acet torch, sawzall, and grinders but not sure which would be best and I don't want to go BOOM! I have many people who have given me ideas but I wanna know the right way from experienced folks. Thanks for the help.

Glad to have you and glad you asked before you cut. Since you are pointed in the right direction on the cut, I would suggest running you numbers through the pit calc to see what will work. http://www.smokerbuilder.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=113
Hope that helps.

BBQ is just smoke and beers!
Usually more beers than smoke.
