my first build

Post by KILLSWITCH505 » December 11th, 2011, 7:21 pm

this is my first smoker i wanted to rework the stand and finish painting it but i still haven't....... she only get fired a couple times a year (super bowl and birthdays) its hard to justify the cost when cooking for a few people the my UDS handles most of my cooks

Close up of how I made the door latches

I figure I could get a couple briskets in the horizontal and some butts, summer sausage or maybe cold smoke in the vertical
Image

Image

And I used child labor to build most of it. helped keep the cost down
Image

To bad the kid sleeps on the job
Image

finished the tuning plates made it so I could go traditional or reverse flow

Well I hope to have a decent shop by the time I retire. With any luck thats gonna be in about 7 or 8 years.

Then I should have more time then I know what to do with. Maybe.

An electrician huh, now we have a member with spark smarts. LOL a while back, I wired up the dryer. Wrong
Blew a 500 dollar board out of it. The bad part was that my fat belly was touching the front of the dryer when I plugged it in. OMG.....almost needed paper after that one.

I guess I was sleeping when I wired it cause hooked it like it was 220. Silly me!!!!! 110 to the element and 110 to the motor. Thats not 220 is it......I guess I should have followed the :rulz:

The repairman did the same freaking thing to it after he put the new board in it. By the third board he got her hooked up right.
