Post by dportz87 » January 7th, 2012, 6:26 pm

Hi to everyone. New to building smokers, as with everyone else I have alot of questions about this build. started to draw the palns for my smoker, bought a old air compressor tank for the cooking chamber, removed the mounting plate got the dimentions of the tank.
evey time i come to this site I see alot of great idea's. sorry need to learn to resize pictures.

Welcome to the site. The air tank is a good size and will give you great Q. Ask questions and none are "dumb" so don't be nervous. Post pics as you go and of the finished product...........the food.

I see snow !!!! and to think it was in the 60's here today. and last week it was 5 below wind chill, now there saying tues brings a cold front and next weekend is warm again.

What a great start to your smoker. It will make a fine rig.

Sorry been gone a while, was trying to get the smoker done, and not had time to do so. in 2012 I was informed that the plant I work in was going to be closed down, that ment looking for work, found a new job, moved to a new state, now I have time to get the smoker done. going to get some pictures this week and get them on here for everyone to see what I have done. The tanks has the door cut in it, hinges mounted and I started making the fire box, got the frame done for the trailer.

Thanks, I thought that no one answered my post, when I went to the settings some how some of my options were changed. I have to get some pictures up, as to where I am with the build, went last week end and got 4 tires and rims from a ford ranger for my axle. the axle I am going to use is a Dexter Torflex axle.

Sorry don't think I can reproduce that, don't remember where I got the chain from. I don't think it will burn out quick either.
