Hello from So Cal

Post by Richb » August 10th, 2015, 11:21 pm

Hello all,

I've been lurking and learning for a little while now. (Ilike to listen before I speak)I had been wanting to build my own smoker for some time, then I found this site. I was going to build the larger Gravity Feed smoker. However when they released the Mini Gravity Feed smoker. I bought the plans immediately. It is a much better fit, as a family smoker. I am ordering the metal this week and starting as soon as I can. I only hope I can do half as good a job as I have seen done on this site so far.

Welcome RichB,

There are several builds commencing now this month... Stay posted, post pictures as RC mentioned. Any comments here are either encouraging or helpful suggestion. When you finally complete it and fire it up, the entire group takes pride and pleasure in your success. Just read some posts and you'll know that right off. Good luck building... My tubing is cut and I'm packing insulation inside the hollow tubes. Hope to be welding before the scorching weekend arrives.

Thank you, to all of you. I have been watching all the threads on the Mini GF. I am definitely planning on taking pictures and posting them. I don't think I could keep up with Puff. There is no way I could work that fast. I am just planning on turning out the nicest Smoker I can build. I have been smoking meats for a couple of decades now, and I am really excited to use a Gf Smoker. If this turns out well I will be trying my hand at a couple more of the plans here on this site. I just love the idea of building your own equipment.

Does anyone know if there are plan available for the 2 trailered Hog Roasters that were built for the 2014 Gathering?

Maybe sent Frank a PM or voicemail and he can get you the most direct, correct answer.
