New to site- glad to be here

Post by Ranjer59 » September 10th, 2015, 7:33 pm

I'm not an old hand at smoking- had grills all of my life- but just got the smoking bug about 3 years ago.
Was doing some web surfing (they sill call it that?) and found something called a "UDS"... oh my. Built one and became a UDS BBQ evangelist at work- everyone just nodded and smiled - probably said a few "Bless his heart"s. That was until they tasted the samples I (HAD) to bring to work- was too good to keep to myself.

since then- built a miniWsm (who hasn't?) and a 30 gallon hooker cooker based off a pit barrel cooker. I even put together a propane powered hardi backer cabinet type smoker (don't laugh). You may have noticed that there is minimal skill /machine work in any of these. Don't weld, don't have a welder, don't own a truck... and don't have much money. A fellow from the north might say "that's some tough sledding" - I wouldn't... I'm in Texas (license plate motto:" what's a sled?"

Thanks for having me!
