Hello all, and greetings from the little Mediterranean island of Malta :D Charlie, 36 years young.

I've always loved cooking and I have been dabbling in BBQ this past year. I am have built myself a UDS and subsequently built a pit controller for it with a PID unit.

Now I would love to build myself a reverse flow stick burner, BUT, propane tanks or steel pipes are very very hard to come by over here as they are not used much. SO I wanted to ask, what other options would I realistically have to work with?

thanks.

Round isn't necessary but personally I like how they look. There are some square builds on the site and the guys say they work great. More and more are putting square doors on their tanks and it seems like many of them would have started square to begin with when they were done.

Welcome. Square is the way to go. You actually get more cooking surface than you do with a tank build. He is one we did viewtopic.php?f=11&t=3789&p=53365&hilit ... dge#p53365

Astronaut Scott Kelly posted a picture your island a few weeks ago from the space station. I thought I saw some smoke on one corner, was that you ? :o

Love square...if you can get the metal you'll never need to go hunting for a tank again. It's a terrific way to go. Good luck!

Make no mistake, there ain't no powder in this Puff ! And... I'm not really a crazy person but I play one in real life
