New guy from SC. But not new to bbq!

Names Josh. I Just bought the DP Gravity fed plans, and finally got them printed out in landscape size for easier viewing. I do some catering and a few comps per year mainly for fun with my Lang 60 and WSM 22. After seeing so many Vertical insulated smokers everywhere and not wanting to stay up all night anymore or pay 6k for one.. Here I am!

Welcome. You will enjoy the DP GF. It's big enough to cook heaps and economical enough to not have to nurse it constantly.
Just be mindful that the thing is very heavy and when building it you might have to turn it over to weld on another side etc. You might have to enlist the help of another or even purchase a suitable lifting mechanism. Which in itself is not a bad thing. "I've got too many tools ...said nobody". :D

Learning generally boils down to "Repetition or the avoidance of pain", some people learn by doing, some by watching and some just have to pee on the electric fence.

Whether you think that you can, or that you can't, you are usually right. Henry Ford
