Hello from the Cali "lurker"

Post by willysmoke » September 8th, 2012, 9:43 pm

I am not really new to this site. I am one of those people Frank refer to as a "lurker". You know, one of those people that wants to play in the game but can't seem to get themselves off the bench. In my case, it has been more that life seems to constantly be interfering with my plans. I inherited a love of cooking from my old man and decided to do something about it when I retired a few years ago. I decided to build a barbecue grill trailer about a year and a half ago. I had no welding skills or equipment. Fotunately for me, my brother does. With a borrowed MIG welder and several lessons from my brother, I finished the trailer after a couple hundred hours of work (the second hundred were spent fixing my mistakes). The grill was done just in time to cook for 600 people at church. Now I have the bug and it wont go away. I am in the process of getting together the equipment and supplies to build a couple projects. Then I can get off Frank's lurker list.

Thanks for your patience

If it can't be smoked .... try frying it. It that don't work, it's probably best just left alone

Here are a couple pics of the inside. It does a pretty nice job of grilling. I will do some modifications on the next one to allow a spit to be used for a whole pig.
