Hello gentlemen. I'm new to the forum.

Good to find a community where the talk is about the real deal when it comes to smokers and related stuff. I have been shocked and a little disturbed by landing on sites where they mostly discuss where to buy a nice sheet metal grill and call it a smoker.
Anyway, if anyone wants to know, probably not but here is a little about me and why I am here...
My Daddy put me to welding when I was 13 and told me I would need a skill to fall back on in case plans didn't work out. Well, that was 37 years ago and he was right. I have spent the majority of my working life putting groceries on the table from welding, ironworking, and millwright work. Currently teaching HS Agriculture (had to get some use out of the BS and MS). Sure beats laying in the dirt breathing rod smoke.
I am crazy about building stuff. Mostly machines and farm implements with a couple of smokers along the way. At this point I really am ready to figure out the art and science of smoker building. Please be patient and if I say something stupid try to go easy. Thanks
