<r>Awesome to be here everyone!<br/>
<br/>
My name is Ryan and me and a good friend started welding around a year ago, mostly reading to learn the trade while we saved money for equipment. After purchasing our first welder, (PowerMTS 211Si With TIG Package) we started on smaller projects in the shop, like racks to hold the steel off the ground, custom air tool holder and others. Eventually started fabricating different furniture pieces, but this forum may enjoy the fermenter box for beer. <br/>

<br/>
Here is a little background on the build. We used angle iron to create the frame, plywood for the walls and insulation to keep a stable temp. As insulation was not enough, we used a mini fridge motor/condensor to keep it cool and a heating pad for a turtle cage for warming, add a little arduino for the controls and wahlah, you have beer. Ok, a lot of other work went into it, but... <E>:beer:</E> <br/>
<br/>
Anyways, why I'm here: I have another buddy that likes to grill, smoke, and cook but wanted to upgrade to a larger smoker, specifically and reverse smoker on a trailer. So I'm here to learn, plan, and gain insight from the pro's at smoker builder. After reading for a couple days, it seems this place is full of professional smokers that enjoy a beer... or more and also if I need to find anything special, I can rely on this community to steer me in the right direction.</r>

Not the last completed pic, but you get the idea.

Well I don't know how to brew, but I've been known to drink a few. Some of the guys here are pros and almost all are better welders and fabricators than I am. For me I am busy a weekend smoker that enjoys cooking for the family. Either way everyone here is friendly and helpful. Many of the guys are incredibly knowledgeable.
Before your build you must decide what kind and size smoker you want/ need. Be realistic and enjoy the project. I suggest looking at the plans Frank has for sale. They are worth every cent. Don't be afraid to ask questions.

Learning generally boils down to "Repetition or the avoidance of pain", some people learn by doing, some by watching and some just have to pee on the electric fence.

Whether you think that you can, or that you can't, you are usually right. Henry Ford
