My junk pile

Post by Weldun » March 2nd, 2016, 5:26 pm

That's how my wife refers to this pile of treasures I've been tirelessly collecting for my mini gf, I had to purchase the tubing but the rest of the items ive been able to pick up here and there. All I need now is sheeting, insulation, angle iron, expanded metal and some time. I can't wait!

I say the same about my wife's shoe collection.

Pete, you hit the nail on the head....

I have my wife and my daughter save me the shoe boxes they get.. Some are so solid they make excellent compartments to store crap in and on the garage shelves... I tape a card on each with the contents and it works great. You can't imagine how many boxes I have!!!

It keeps me from freaking out on cost...I get something out of it

Make no mistake, there ain't no powder in this Puff ! And... I'm not really a crazy person but I play one in real life

You guys are gonna be in trouble.....never make fun of the shoes!

(I don't ask how much the shoes cost, and she doesn't have to know about the new toys for the shop.)

Ok Ditytires, after I read your reply I walked in the closet and took a look at her side and the shoe collection and decided your philosophy makes perfect sense so I brought this home tonight. Although I'm talking tough at the moment, I haven't told her yet!

Yikes....your wife is gonna be mad a ME now!

Just remember, she can still claim she "needs" shoes (to match whatever) but you don't "need" shop toys. The key for me was showing my wife how much happier I am when I have a project to work on and that every project needs certain tools.

It also helps that her favorite pair of shoes is a pair of safety toe timberlines!

Nice toy by the way....I'd play it safe and use it to build her a shoe rack!

Ha Squiggle funny you should mention excited, I cleaned up the shop, put everything away, took a shower and ate dinner. Sat on the couch and decided to put my dirty clothes back on and go out and weld the hopper/ firebox assembly. It's been a couple years since I had my 1999 Millermatic Vintage fired up.

It is definitely addicting. I'll get home from work and be dead tired but too excited about the project to sit and relax. So....out to the shop for a few hours after the kid is to bed.

Looks good.....keep it up.
